Martin Collison today spoke at the launch of DEFRA’s 25 Year Environment Plan on the need for partnerships to come together to deliver environmental action. Focusing on both the power and challenges of partnerships, Martin highlighted the work being conducted by Greater Lincolnshire LEP to create a multi-sector, public/private Water Plan which also seeks to unite action on flooding and water supply. By bringing together partners across the public and private sector the plan will allow more to be achieved through combining resources and expertise.
Martin also spoke about the forthcoming event being led by the Zoological Society of London on the 21st and 22nd October which is looking at the challenges of feeding a growing global population whilst protecting biodiversity. The Future of Food – the Future of Biodiversity aims to stimulate a long term debate on how we can reduce the impact of food production on biodiversity.
